Ragging in educational Institutions is a matter of concern. The Govt. of Kerala has passed a legislation called the Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act 1998.Ragging is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extent to two years and a fine which may extent to Rs.10000/-.Under section 5 of the act any student convinced of an offence shall be dismissed from the educational institution for a period of three years. All complaints of ragging will be immediately reported to the police without any internal enquiry.
The college authorities are taking strict measures to curb the menace of ragging.
Anti ragging committee formed
Anti ragging squad formed (The members make frequent visit to the hostel)
All the students and parents submit an undertaking in the prescribed format issued by MHRD and upload the same to the MHRD website
Orientation classes are arranged the students, Teachers, anti-ragging committee members and squad members against the menace of ragging by the legal cell authorities every year
