Rules and Regulations
Application for admission to the hostel shall be available in the College office. A passport size photo must be affixed in the application form. This shall be signed by both parents and student
On-campus rooms contain a dresser/closet, a desk, a bed, and a chair for each student. Students should bring their own mattress, pillows, bed sheets, blankets, towels,.
Students are responsible for the furniture provided for them; furniture may not be removed from any room or common area (unless authorized and moved by the Office of Housing staff). Students are charged for the replacement of any furniture that is removed or damaged. The Management will charge students for removal of any furniture that is left in a room or common area at the end of the year. Furniture in the common areas is for the use of students of the floor and cannot be moved from that common area. If common-area furniture is found in a student's room the occupants of the room will be fined accordingly.
If any furniture is damaged or missing, students should report it to the warden immediately.
Use of electrical appliances should be kept to the minimum.
Hostel/ Mess rules and regulations
Admission to Hostel will be given after the interview of Hostel Warden.
Hostel Warden has full right to dismiss the hostler on misconduct or for any other solid reason.
Residents are responsible for the furniture & fittings of the room allotted to them.
Residents are to pay Hostel fee and establishment fee for one year at the time of admission.
Hostel fee paid in advance will not be refunded in any circumstances.
Residents are responsible for their belongings and are to keep their valuables under lock and key.
Loss of items from the hostel to be brought to the notice of Asst Hostel Warden/Hostel Warden immediately and the management is not responsible for any loss of item.
Residents are not permitted to change their room in any circumstances with out the written permission of Hostel Warden.
Change of rooms on mutual understanding is also not permitted.
Keys to be handed over to store in case of long leave.
Lethal weapons and any kind of weapons are strictly prohibited in the hostel room.
Intoxicants such as Cigarette, Alcohol and Drugs etc are strictly prohibited in the College Campus.
Residents are permitted to leave the camp only after getting the written permission from the Matron/ Asst Warden/ Warden
Residents are to enter the details such as date, time of leaving, place of visiting and time of arrival in the out going register.
If arrived late the reason for the same is to be mentioned in the out going register.
Hostlers are not permitted to carry food into the hostel rooms without prior permission.
Hostlers are not permitted to cook food in the hostel.
Day scholars are not permitted to enter in Hostels with out the permission of Hostel Warden.
Students are warned against indulging in ragging. If any one is found or caught for ragging he will be immediately suspended from the Hostel and will be handed over to the authorities.
Residents are not permitted to stay in hostels during the collage hours except in the case of sickness recommended by the doctor.
Residents are not allowed to make disturbance to other room mates and hostlers by making howling, switching on transistor, tape recorder etc at least during peak hours ie from 10 pm to 6 am.
Residents are not permitted to conduct any get together or function in Hostels with out prior approval of the Principal.
Residents can avail the facility of special food (out of menu) on request only on self sickness.
Additional foods and special items which are not listed in the Menu will be charged as per the rate fixed for general customer.
Students are expected to behave in a proper manner towards the canteen staff.
Pocket radios, FM sets, tape recorders are not allowed in the Dining Hall.
Residents are to observe strict timings; food will not be supplied in case of late reporting to mess with out the specific instruction of Asst Warden/Hostel Warden.
Any kind of ragging in dining hall is not allowed; if any report of ragging came to the notice or any one is caught for the same he/she will be suspended from the hostel and will be handed over to the civil authorities for interrogation.
ABOVE ALL, THE MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ADD TO, OR AMEND THESE RULES. IF ANY HOSTLER BEHAVE AGAINST THE DIGNITY OF THE COLLEGE OR HOSTEL HE/SHE WILL BE DEREGISTERED FROM THE HOSTEL
To ensure that only authorized enter hostels, the Management provides uniformed security coverage twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week at the main entrance of each hostel. Students must keep their ID Cards with them at all times. All students who enter the hostel must show their ID Cards to the security assistant on demand.
The Main Campus gate will be closed at 7.30 PM. Only authorized personnel and students with ID cards will be allowed inside the campus after this.
The entrance to the hostels will be locked at 10.30 PM. Assistant wardens of these facilities are the custodian of the key to the front entrance door.
Visitors are not allowed into the hostels with out permission. The visitors must inform the security and they will be escorted to the visiting room in the admin block. Visitors must be signed in and must be escorted by their hosts at all times. No overnight stay of the visitor is permitted in the hostel.
Identification is usually not required to leave the hostel, but any person leaving the hostel with a valuable item should present positive identification and sign the items out. This practice is to keep a check on thefts on the campus.
Maintenance of the premises
The Management is responsible for maintaining all the college property and facilities. In the hostel, the management is responsible for general upkeep, physical appearance, and overall cleanliness. Specifically, the management is responsible for cleaning public areas, hallways, lounges, and commonfloor bathrooms on weekdays. The management is not responsible for cleaning student rooms or bathrooms.
If a room needs common supplies, such as light bulbs, fuses, the Warden/Matron’s office should be contacted.
Cleanliness in the hostel
Students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms, and bathrooms. They are also responsible for removing their trash to a designated central location.
Residents are not permitted to cook food inside the Hostel room.
Residents are not permitted to carry food to their rooms
Damages of hostel property
Any damages to hostel property including driving in of nails and defacing of walls, fixtures or furniture will be made good at the expense of occupants of the room or at the expense of the occupants of the block as the case may be. Willful damage to hostel property will be deemed to be a breach of hostel discipline and will be dealt with by a fine or such other punishment as the concerned advisor may decide.
Responsibility for students property
The hostel authorities do not hold themselves responsible for any loss of private property by students residing in the hostels.
Students are advised in their own interest not to keep money or any other valuables in their rooms. They may keep all their valuables under lock and key.
The hostels are under the direct control of the Principal, who is the Warden.
Hostel and Mess Committee
The hostel and mess committee shall be constituted with the Warden as President. The Committee shall frame the rules and regulation from time to time for the effective administration of hostels and messes. All hostlers are requested to follow these rules. Violation of rules and regulations will be viewed seriously.
Leave of absence
No member shall absent himself/herself from the hostel without having previously obtained the permission of the Warden or Asst. Warden. If a member finds it necessary to leave the hostel in an emergency he/she shall report before the departure, the reason for his absence in writing to the Asst. Warden.
The mess month starts from the 1st day of the calendar month.
Mess fee will be deducted only to those hostlers submitting the leave application in advance.
Deduction of mess fee will be considered if leave of absence is more than four consecutive days
No arguments with canteen staff are permitted. Grievances if any, should report to Hostel Warden or concerned authorities in writing.
Mess in charge has full right to check the violation of mess rules and he can report any misbehavior or damage caused to the furniture in the mess hall made by the student.
Living on the campus
The first year students are required to live on the campus unless they live locally with a parent/guardian or spouse.
The Management must give its written approval before a student can occupy an outside accommodation other than one in the College.
After the first year in residence, the students who desire on-campus housing for the next academic year may request the rooms they now occupy, or, based upon available spaces, may request another room and roommate.
Students are guaranteed housing for their entire course so long as their stay in on-campus housing is continuous. If a student elects to move off campus and later decides they would like to live on-campus, they must apply for on-campus housing. Once a student leaves on-campus housing, there is no guarantee that they will be provided on-campus housing in the future.
The terrace of the hostels can be used to dry the clothes.
Moving in and moving out
When you arrive on campus, you will be given, and asked to sign for, the keys to your room. You will also be asked to complete a registration card.
Students must be registered and have settled their College student accounts before they will be issued hostel keys. If you plan to arrive after the first day of classes, you must notify the Management. You will be asked to review a room condition report that has been completed by your Warden/Matron. Read it over carefully, indicate any problems with your room, sign the report, and return it to your Warden/Matron. If your Warden/Matron has not completed a room condition report for your room, please ask your Warden/Matron to do so before you settle in to your room. (You must complete this process at your new room any time you change on-campus rooms during the year.) The room condition report is the primary reference used when billing students for damages. To be valid, it must be signed by your Warden/Matron.
You are responsible for turning in your keys to your Warden/Matron whenever you move out of hostel during the year. If you move out of your room at any time during the year, for example, to change rooms or withdraw, it is your responsibility to get a Check-out Room Condition Report. You must complete this report with your Warden/Matron and submit the completed form to the management. Please remove all of your belongings, and leave the room in a clean and habitable condition. All furniture, which was in your room when you moved in is expected to be there and arranged as you found it. If you fail to properly check out and turn in your keys, you may be charged additional residence, board, and lock/key fees.
