The OMFS department serves as a surgical bridge between medicine and dentistry, handling cases such as facial trauma, orthognathic corrections, congenital defects, TMJ disorders, cyst and tumor removal, facial cosmetic procedures (e.g., cleft lip/palate repair), dental implants, and biopsies .
Educational Programs
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery): A 5-year (4 + 1-year internship) course including a 1½-month rotation in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery .
MDS (Master of Dental Surgery – OMFS): A 3-year postgraduate specialization with 12 seats, focusing deeply on advanced surgical skills .
Training & Facilities
- Comprehensive Clinical Exposure: Hands-on training in trauma management, orthognathic surgery, tumour/cyst treatments, TMJ, implants, biopsies, and extractions under guidance of experienced faculty .
