Managing Director's Message

The world is beginning to witness a new wave of positive energy after the unprecedented pall of gloom that enveloped humanity in 2020 with the spread of pandemics. COVID-19 was a shock to people across the world. None was spared by the virus as it spread from one corner of the world to the rest leaving a trail of death and devastation. Healthcare systems developed for the collective well-being of the people were stretched to their maximum limit even as economic activities came to a grinding halt. As we enter the third decade of the new millennium we are beginning to see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. The successful rollout of the vaccination has certainly rekindled fresh hopes and optimism. The fight against the pandemic has again proved the resilience and capability of the human species to overcome adversities of the worst kind.

The community of the Educare Institute of Dental Sciences joined with others in bringing solace to the affected persons and the society at large. The interns from Educare were at the forefront to volunteer their services to contain the spread of the pandemics and render health care assistance services in the hospitals filled with virus-infected persons.

The year 2020 was mostly a passive affair on the campus with much of the time spent under the lockdown. Even under such gloomy circumstances, I am very glad to say that we have had a few cherished moments. The faculty and students joined hands to develop a very robust system of online classes so that the passing out and the convocation of the 14th batch of students would be held as per scheduled.

I am also very happy and proud to tell you that the regulatory agency has granted permission for Educare Institute to start post-graduate courses in the subjects of Endodontics & Conservative, Orthodontics and Periodontics dentistry. We are set to commence the courses in this academic year itself.

I would take this opportunity to seek help and cooperation of the students, faculty members, and other staff to facilitate for healthy and pleasant campus environment in the Post-COVID era. As the scourge of the pandemic remains still at large I would request each member of the Educare community on the campus and outside to comply strictly with the protocols and social distancing norms.

I am happy to share that the expertise developed for imparting online classes would be developed further into a hybrid system of teaching that would enable students to access recordings of classroom lectures.

Another novel initiative on our part is to enable students to receive professional help in overcoming stress and social inhibitions. My observations in the past few years have convinced me that a section of students is prone to withdraw into an inward-looking shell and stay away from the mainstream. I am confident that these students could be helped in discarding such inhibitions and brought to the mainstream with proper mentoring. We are taking up this as a mission in the year 2021 with the help and assistance of a trusted mentor in the field.

I am looking forward to a year of happy and jovial campus life filled with exciting learning experiences and opportunities.
