Pharmacology is a branch of medicine that deals with the interaction of drugs with the systems and processes of living animals, in particular, the mechanisms of drug action as well as the therapeutic and other uses of the drug.
The department of pharmacology was established in the year 2007. The department motivates and hones the spirit of excellence in the academic, scientific, and research areas through intensive mentoring both in and beyond the classroom in a wide variety of forums.
The department attempts to point out research-based learning and the creation of knowledge under the academic responsibility to inculcate students with a sense of excellence not only in the related subject area but also in scientific research that will facilitate their transformation into confident and independent scholars with the ultimate goal of improving human health.
Educare Institute of Dental Sciences offers a bachelor’s degree and Master’s Degree programme in dental surgery. The department of pharmacology provides detailed lectures for second year BDS and first year MDS students during their corresponding academic year.
To obtain a center par excellence in pharmacology by implanting rational and scientific basis of therapeutics, keeping in view of dental curriculum and profession. The Pharmacology is an integral part in the field of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing. Our students receive a strong foundation in Pharmacology, Toxicology and Dental Pharmacology, to practice rational use of drugs. To accomplish these objectives, The department engages in various programs of classroom instructions and laboratory work for under graduate students. The Laboratory work includes teaching basics of Pharmacy with clinical implications of various Pharmacy preparations.

The mission of our department is to make the students familiar with the safety, efficacy, and toxicity of the medications in humans.
The knowledge gained from learning through effective teaching strategies will convey relevant information to students to develop their analytical and intellectual skills to investigate the novel discovery of drugs.
The focus of the department will be to obtain them with skills to explore the maximum possible utilization of drugs with minimal side effects for major ailments.
The value-added courses will aid them in capacity building including verbal and nonverbal communication skills, personality development, and writing review and research articles and publications
