Biochemistry

Biochemistry and medicine are intimately related. Biochemical studies have illuminated many aspects of health and disease. Health depends on balance and harmony of biochemical reactions occurring in the body and disease reflects anomalies at the molecular level. The biochemical laboratory tests, aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of treatment.

Our basic learning objective from a dental student is to make him / her understand the medical biochemistry from Clinical point. This includes the metabolic changes which leads to changes in the levels of various blood and body fluid substances. Practical aspects of the syllabus basically focuses on the few important biochemical parameters, the knowledge of which is essential for a dentist

Programmes Offered

Educare Institute of Dental Sciences offers a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree programme in Dental Surgery. The Department of Biochemistry provides, detailed lectures for first year BDS and first year MDS students during their corresponding academic year

MDS Programmes

The Department of Biochemistry provides, detailed lectures for MDS students during their corresponding academic year.

BDS Programmes

The Department of Biochemistry provides, detailed lectures for first year BDS students during their corresponding academic year.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The biochemical laboratory tests, aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of treatment for the better diagnosis and treatment, we provide detailed knowledge about general, medical and clinical biochemistry.

  • All faculties are engaging both the theory and practical classes.

  • PowerPoint presentations are widely used for the better understanding of the concepts.

  • Practical demonstration and training for various techniques like, Spectrophotometry, chromatography, electrophpresis.. etc.,

  • Also conducting discussions about clinical biochemistry techniques.

DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOGY

VISION

To make students aware of various branches of microbiology and the role of microbes in human diseases relevant to dentistry. It will give a strong basic knowledge in theory and practical to the graduate and post graduate students.

MISSION

To impact quality education in Microbiology to Undergraduate II BDS and Post graduate I MDS students by means of theory, practical/laboratory based classes which enable students to understand various kinds of microorganisms which are important in the field of dentistry. And also assisting in Research projects and Thesis of MDS students. To carry out evidence-based teaching to promote academic excellence, to motivate interest in research activities, further education and social services.
