Special Facilities

• MDS course commenced in 2021.
• Annual intake – 3 students per year.
• Keeping pace with technological advances, the department has been continuously upgrading itself to the use of Digital Technology in diagnosis and treatment planning. The dolphin software along with CBCT soft wares and other recently procured digital gadgets are the major steps in this direction. Post graduates receive extensive training in recent treatment modalities including clear aligner therapy, skeletal correction with TADS along with conventional bracket systems.
• The faculty and the PG students are involved extensively in the research, publications, and presentations at National forums. CDE and workshops are also conducted regularly.
• CBCT: - The First stand-alone dental college in the state to set up a CBCT unit, providing advanced imaging technology for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• CDE program on Damon Self-Ligation and Advansync 2 appliance was conducted on March 8th 2022 by Dr Gurkeerat Singh.
• CDE program on Early Intervention of skeletal malocclusion by Dr Vincy Antony on 26th May 2023.
• CDE program on Clear Aligner Therapy by Dr Adam Ozeer as a part of Orthodontic Week on October 4th 2023.
• Hosted the Ios Zonal Post Graduate Convention 2024 for the 1st time in Kerala on 3rd,4th and 5th June 2024.
• Post Graduate Student Exchange Program with A.B.Shetty Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore.
• Dr Anfiya Nazar scored highest marks in first year MDS examination under KUHS in 2022.
• Dr Murshida P.K secured third highest marks in first year MDS examination under KUHS in 2023.
